Step 1: Get a Quote

We don't give you a computer-generated guess. Here's exactly how we price your shipment — and why it matters.

How Our Quote Process Works

Fill out the quote form on our homepage — it takes about 60 seconds. Tell us your pickup and delivery locations, your vehicle type, and your preferred ship date. Once you submit, we get to work.

Within a short time you'll receive an email and SMS with your rate and a secure link to place your order online. No pressure, no sales call, no runaround.

Why we don't give instant automated quotes: Most auto transport websites show you a rate the moment you hit submit. That rate comes from an algorithm using historical averages — it may be weeks or months out of date. Rates in this industry move fast based on carrier availability, fuel prices, and seasonal demand. An outdated quote can mean your vehicle sits for days waiting for a carrier willing to move it at that price.

At Lepke, we check live market rates before we send you a number. That means we look at what carriers are actually accepting today on your route, factor in current conditions, and give you a price that's competitive and realistic. This is how we assign a carrier quickly — sometimes within hours of you placing your order.

What Affects Your Rate?

Several variables go into every quote. Here's what we're looking at when we price your shipment:

Distance & Route

Longer hauls cost more, but not always proportionally. Popular routes (e.g., Florida to New York) have more carriers competing for loads, which keeps prices lower. Remote or off-the-beaten-path routes may cost more even for shorter distances.

Vehicle Size

Standard sedans are the cheapest to ship. SUVs, trucks, and vans take up more space on the carrier trailer and weigh more, raising the rate. Lifted or oversized vehicles may require special equipment.

Running Condition

A vehicle that drives and rolls under its own power is easiest to load. Non-running vehicles require special winching equipment and extra labor, which adds cost.

Open vs. Enclosed

Open transport (the standard multi-car trailer) is the most affordable. Enclosed transport is a covered trailer — better for classic, luxury, or exotic vehicles that need extra protection from the elements.

Timing & Flexibility

If you need pickup within 1–2 days, we may need to offer a higher rate to attract a carrier quickly. Flexible pickup windows of 3–5 days generally result in better rates because we can wait for the right carrier at the right price.

Fuel Prices

Diesel prices directly affect what carriers charge. When fuel spikes, so do transport rates — and vice versa. Checking live rates means we're always working with today's real fuel reality, not last month's average.

Season & Demand

Winter snowbird season (people moving south for the winter) drives up Florida routes. Summer drives up northern routes. Rates can shift 15–30% based on time of year and current carrier availability.

Pickup/Delivery Location

Door-to-door service is our default, but tight city streets, long driveways, or low clearance areas may require meeting the carrier at a nearby open lot. Rural locations can also affect availability and price.

Why Live Rates Mean Faster Pickup

Here's the thing most people don't realize: when a broker posts a load at too low a price, carriers scroll right past it. Your car sits on the load board waiting. Sometimes for days.

By pricing at the market rate from day one, we avoid that. Carriers see a fair price, accept the load, and your vehicle moves. This is why our customers consistently report fast pickup times — we don't lowball the rate to win your business and then scramble to find someone willing to move at that price.

Bottom line: You get a rate that's accurate, competitive, and designed to get your vehicle moving — not one that looks good on paper but delays your shipment.
